Football has an obvious double standard.

Whenever there is an injustice to one it is an injustice to all. I sat and watched the media crucify Michael Vick for allegations of dog fighting. For months in a row it was virtually impossible to turn on the news without hearing some sort of negative commentary regarding the dog incident. Meanwhile Brett Farve & Ben Rothlisberger did not receive half of the bad press Vick did and they both had sexual allegations involving actual human beings. Not only that Brett Farves sister was just recently arrested for allegedly running a methamphetamine lab. Somehow these incidents get reported minimally and swept under the rug. It appears to be racism, but it also can be just that they dont like Vick. Whichever the case, the media obviously picks and chooses who they want to show favor too.
